Youth Opportunity & Community Connection

Local Resilience & Self-Sustaining County Governance

Youth Opportunity & Community Connection

When young people belong, our communities thrive.
Every child deserves meaningful opportunities to explore their interests, discover their potential, and grow into confident adults rooted in their community. Our young people should not have to leave Larimer County to find opportunity—they should be able to build their lives, careers, and families right here at home. I am committed to creating pathways that help youth experience, engage with, and ultimately stay and thrive in the communities that raised them.

Action Steps:

  • Expand partnerships with nonprofits, cultural groups, and local organizations to create accessible enrichment, leadership, and exploration programs for youth.

  • Work with local employers, trade partners, and higher education institutions to build career, apprenticeship, and internship pathways that help young people launch stable futures here.

  • Support youth-driven leadership councils and advisory roles that give young people a direct voice in shaping county decisions.

  • Encourage development of affordable housing, starter homes, and live-work opportunities that make it possible for young adults to remain in the communities they grew up in.

Local Resilience & Self-Sustaining County Governance

Strong communities stand firm, even when federal leadership is unstable.
Action Steps:

  • Prioritize planning that reduces reliance on unstable federal funding streams.

  • Strengthen local emergency readiness and ensure essential resources are available county-wide.

  • Develop county-led protections for democratic processes and civil rights should federal conditions shift.

  • Promote local food systems, broadband expansion, and service redundancy to ensure long-term resilience.

Regional Collaboration & Coalition Leadership

Local Resilience & Self-Sustaining County Governance

Local Resilience & Self-Sustaining County Governance

Stronger communities are built when we solve big challenges together.
Homelessness, affordability, mental health access, transportation gaps, and rising costs do not stop at city lines. These challenges are regional—and they require coordinated, county-wide solutions. While partnerships already exist across Larimer County, they are not yet unified under a shared vision or structured for long-term regional impact.

I am committed to building the next level of collaboration: strong, coordinated coalitions that bring municipalities, school districts, nonprofits, Chambers of Commerce, service providers, and advocates together with shared goals and measurable outcomes. When we align our efforts, we expand what’s possible.

Action Steps:

  • Formalize a county-wide collaboration framework that strengthens and connects existing partnerships around unified regional priorities.

  • Support regional action plans for homelessness, affordability, accessibility, and economic mobility by aligning—rather than duplicating—existing work.

  • Expand shared funding opportunities by helping partners combine resources and pursue joint grants that increase regional capacity.

  • Improve data-sharing and transparency through enhanced cross-agency communication tools and accessible public dashboards.

  • Facilitate regular multi-sector roundtables to maintain accountability, coordinate ongoing work, and ensure all partners—large and small—have a seat at the table.

People First. Community Strong.
